This is a video I uploaded on YouTube a few months ago and decided to upload here on the Retro Asylum site
Joe Blade is a somewhat forgotten gaming hero, but he is in today’s 8bit wars.

So for those of you reading this and don’t know who Joe Blade is…shame on you!

Joe Blade was a game that came out in the late 1980?s and it was a game that got me hooked from the moment i saw this cassette inlay, Joe Blade was a muscle bound macho type character and that alone sold me the idea on getting this game.

So what what was the story behind the game, well if memory serves me right its to do with The world governments having a spot of bother with a gang of insane terrorists, who are holding a group of world leaders world leaders hostage.

Super Metroid on the Super Nintendo is not only one of the best games on the 16bit console but also one of the best games of all times!

From the get go in this game, it draws you in with an exciting story explaining what happened in the previous Metroid game, and from when the amazing intro story ends the game truly begins to immerse you into this amazing world.

This game is simply a graphical master piece with every screen/level looking different from the preivous one, theres so much attention to detail in this game its just simply unbelieveable. But its not all graphics in this game, the game greatest assest is the engulfing game play!

Splatter House was well known for its gory graphics and violent game play when its 1st came out on the arcades, so I was amazed that this game was also available on the 8bit NES.This game looked worlds apart from its arcade counter part, but that wasn’t a bad thing at all. Gone were the the scary frightning graphics, replaced with cute cartoony style.The monster are all still there, the violence is still there and surprisingly this game really still does play like Splatter House even though it does look worlds apart.Once again you play Rick(I think) who has to save his lovely girlfriend who has been kidnapped by a monster pumpkin head.For more on this subject check it out at http://retroasylum.com/page/3

Super Mario Land - Game Boy

One of the 1st games on the Nintendo handheld and still one of the best. Super Mario Land on the Game Boy sold by the bucket loads and after playing this game again for this review I can see why, this game is amazing.

It plays very similer to the 1st Super Mario game but on a smaller scale but thats not a bad thing at all.

The 3rd game of the Wonder Boy series on the Sega Master System, was by the best Wonder Boy game ever.

This game kicks off at the end of the 2nd game, where your character is on the way to defeat the big bad dragon and this is where this game really begins. After defeating the dragon, our hero Wonder Boy gets cursed and turned into a Dragon.

Fast Food on the Zx Spectrum is a Pac-man style clone, made by the Oliver Twins and published by Codemasters. This was Dizzy’s 1st arcade style game, it may have not been the best, but it was worth the £1.99 I paid for it.

The 8bit wars! This is where I compare the 3 popular home computer of the 80?s, The Spectrum,Amstrad and C64.

This 8bit wars was made this year in April by me,I made 2 different versions of this 8bit wars, one for YouTube and a slightly longer video on Dailymotion hence SV and LV.

This 8bit wars is based around the sequel to the classic game Double Dragon.

Double Dragon 2 was released a few years later after the success of the 1st game and once again we see Billy and Jimmy Lee kick the crap out of baddies, but this time they are after blood after Marion gets killed in the beginning of the 1st level……for more info and videos on this please go the official site

A while ago I was getting a bit fed up with YouTube and decided to upload some where else and Dailymotion seem like the place to do it as it had a longer upload limit.

The game I choose to do a video review on was the classic game on the Spectrum Kwik Snax, now I also decided to do my own take on the whole lets play format by adding my own twist to it, I simply added Loco instead of lets lol.

This video is a complete walkthrough/playthrough minus the intro and cut scenes, which I had to edit for time limit as Dailymotion is 20mins long.
